St. Michael-Eppan Lagrein 2015 |
As the result of strict grape selection and low yields, South Tyrol’s native Lagrein grape variety has evolved into the province’s top red over the past decades. In the vineyard, warm sandy soils are required, while in the cellar, aging in wood is essential. Only grapes grown in the classic selected vineyards of the Bolzano Valley Basin are used to make Lagrein Riserva. The result is a complex red, the powerful structure and varied flavors of which make it absolutely beguiling.
Intense aromas reminiscent of cherries, blackberries and prunes
The history of growing Lagrein in South Tyrol dates back to the fourteenth century and today it is one of South Tyrol's top reds.
