DESCRIPTION
Hillside Select is Shafer's flagship wine, sourced entirely from the winery's rugged hillside vineyards in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. These steep, rocky soils limit vine vigor and produce intensely concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for roughly 32 months in new French oak, the wine exhibits blackcurrant, blackberry, graphite, espresso, and finely integrated tannins. Shafer Vineyards, founded in 1978, is known for meticulous viticulture, sustainable farming, and producing some of Napa's most collectible Cabernets.
