This listing is sold by the case only. Santa Maria La Nave farms vineyards high on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, and Grecanico Dorato is an old native white grape of the island.
Etna whites are known for their tension. The volcanic soils and altitude keep the wines fresh and saline, with citrus, white flowers and a stony, almost smoky finish. Expect a white that's bright and mineral rather than rich, the kind that gets more interesting over a few years.
Serve it chilled, around 50F, in a white wine glass. It's made for seafood: grilled fish, raw shellfish, crudo, or pasta with clams. A good case to lay down for anyone who already loves Etna wines and wants something less familiar than Carricante.
