A flagship blend from Saddlehill Vineyards, the Red Vintner's Reserve combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc sourced from estate blocks. Component lots ferment separately-in a mix of open-top oak-lined fermenters and stainless steel-then are blended halfway through a 16-month barrel regimen in French oak (40% new). The careful integration of varietal characters yields a complex palate of black plum, graphite, lavender and mocha. This reserve bottling reflects Saddlehill's terroir: mountain-cooled nights, gravelly soils and disciplined oak use.
