Cultivated in gravelly, sun-warmed soils at Saddlehill's foothill estate, this Merlot undergoes cold maceration before fermentation in stainless steel to emphasize purity of black cherry and plum fruit. After a gentle press, the wine ages 12 months in seasoned French oak barrels to integrate fine tannins without overwhelming the plush mid-palate. The winery's high-elevation site ensures cool nights that preserve acidity and spice aromas. The result is a medium-bodied Merlot with supple texture, vibrant red fruit and subtle clove undertones.
