From Saddlehill Vineyards in California's Sierra Foothills, the Grand Reserve Chardonnay is sourced from vine-old blocks planted on volcanic loam. Whole-cluster pressing precedes fermentation in 100% French oak barrels (35% new), where 50% malolactic conversion introduces creamy brioche and baked apple notes. Sur lies aging for nine months, with periodic bâtonnage adding weight and complexity. The finished wine balances rich tropical fruit, toasted almond and bright acidity-a harmonious expression of foothill elevation and oak nuance.
