• Blend of rum and whiskey produced by Rolling Fork Spirits in Starlight, Indiana • 85% rum blend and 15% whiskey • Column and pot still single blended rum distilled from molasses by Foursquare Distillery in Barbados; tropically aged 4 years in ex-bourbon barrels • Pot still rum distilled from molasses by an undisclosed distillery in Jamaica; tropically aged 4 years in ex-bourbon barrels • Column-distilled rum distilled from molasses by an undisclosed distillery in the Dominican Republic; tropically aged 4 years in ex-bourbon barrels • Whiskey column distilled by MGP in Indiana; 95% rye and 5% malted barley mash bill; aged 6 years in ex-bourbon casks • Blended and rested for 3 days in stainless steel; aged an additional 20 months in toasted bourbon casks in Starlight, IN • Wafts of vanilla, green apple, toasted almond, and tobacco on the nose; green peppercorn, apricot, and papaya on the palate; burnt marshmallow, lemon oil, and watermelon candy ride out a mineralic, richly textured finish • Non-chill filtered; bottled at cask strength of 55.1% ABV (ABV may vary batch to batch) Rolling Fork’s Fortuitous Union was initially born of a happy accident which saw aged rum unintentionally vatted with rye whiskey. They have since spent years crafting a novel blend of Caribbean rum and Indiana rye for this second release. 20 months in toasted bourbon casks provides a finish that highlights the whiskey in the blend, pushing the spicy rye to the fore.
