Quinta do Infantado is a family estate in Portugal's Douro Valley, the home of Port. Its 20 Year Old Tawny is a blend of wines aged in wooden casks for an average of about twenty years.
Long aging in wood turns Port from purple and fruity to amber and nutty. Expect a tawny color and notes of toasted almond, walnut, dried fig, caramel and orange peel, with a smooth, mellow sweetness and a long, warm finish.
Serve it slightly cool, around 55-60F, in a small wine glass. It keeps well for weeks after opening. Pour it with aged cheeses, crème brûlée, pecan pie or simply on its own after dinner. A very good gift for someone who enjoys Port.
