Underbrush, tobacco-leaf, leather and balsamic aromas lead the nose, along with whiffs of steeped prune. The prune aromas carry over to the lean, if muscular, palate along with licorice and the heat of evident alcohol.
Taut tannins give it a firm finish but it's shy on fruit and freshness.
