Rita Hills AVA) • Sourced from Blocks R22 (70%) & R25 (30%) • Planted by Richard Sanford (of Sanford & Benedict Vineyard) in 1997 • Elder clay loam over shale soils • Hand-harvested • Native yeast fermentation in 20 & 25hl wood vats • 25% whole-cluster • 18-day-maceration with punch-downs and pump-overs • Aged 13 months in 228L French barriques (30% new) • Bottled unfiltered and unfined • 300 cases produced • 13.3% abv
