Visually deep; saturated ruby with a rich; dark core. Highly expressive and ripe on the nose with layers of black raspberry; dark plum; and warm spices; complemented by undertones of licorice; potting soil; and a touch of roasted game. Massive; broad-shouldered; and deeply concentrated on the palate. The 2023 vintage showcases a rounder; more voluptuous mid-palate where the typically brooding Vaucrains tannins feel coated and fleshy rather than austere. Ripe black fruits and dark cherries dominate; leading into a long; powerful finish driven by structural weight and a rich; texturally driven minerality.
