Painted Wolf The Den Pinotage from Paarl is medium to full bodied. It has a smorgasbord of summer berries, savoury spice and toasty wood flavours, leading to a poised finish. The grapes for this wine have been harvested from Kasteelsig in Malmesbury and Leeuwenkuil on the Paarl/ Swartland border.
It was fermented in tanks with various oak staves and malolactic and maturation was also completed with staves. Fifteen percent of the wine was initially fermented in small open fermenters. Then moved into small French and American oak barrels to complete its fermentation.
