Odette is a Napa Valley estate in the Stags Leap District, the small corner of Napa east of Yountville known for Cabernet Sauvignon with ripe fruit and unusually soft, polished tannins.
That district character is what to expect here. Dark cherry and blackcurrant, some cocoa and a little herbal lift, with a smooth, rounded texture rather than hard grip. It's a serious Napa Cabernet, but one that's approachable fairly young.
Open it an hour before dinner and serve around 62-65F in a large glass. Pair it with ribeye, lamb chops, braised short ribs or aged cheddar. It also cellars well, so it's a good bottle to buy two of: one for now and one for a few years down the line.
