• A unique expression of myrtle (Myrtus communis), a flowering Mediterranean evergreen shrub, produced by Vicario Spirits • Estate-grown Myrtle lines ancient walls, remnants of a medieval hospital, at Vicario’s family farm Villa Sant’Andrea in Cortona, Italy • The myrtle berries are harvested by hand in autumn • Produced using 100% non-GMO neutral wheat spirit • A delightfully refreshing herbal liqueur with notes of black tea, cinnamon, and faint bitter orange • 38% ABV Myrtle, sacred to the goddesses Aphrodite, was used by the ancient Greeks to encircle the head of the winners in games, solidifying the plant as a symbol of glory. The tradition of Mirto Liqueur, famous on the island of Sardinia, arrived by way of bandits from Gallura who took it from nearby Corsica. Vicario's Mirto is produced using estate-grown myrtle berries macerated in neutral spirit which is then shipped to South Carolina where it is pressed, filtered, and bottled.
