DESCRIPTION
Massican is the white wine project of winemaker Dan Petroski, made in Napa and Sonoma but inspired by the coastal whites of Italy and Greece. Gemina pairs grape varieties from those countries in a California white blend.
The aim is a wine that tastes like the Mediterranean coast: crisp, bright and a little salty, rather than rich and oaky like a lot of California whites. Expect fresh citrus and orchard fruit, lively acidity and a saline edge on the finish. It's a refreshing change if you're tired of big Chardonnay.
Serve it well chilled, around 48F, in a regular white wine glass. It's made for food: grilled fish, shellfish, salads, fresh cheeses and anything with lemon and olive oil. A good bottle for summer dinners and seafood nights.
