Maison Brotte is a Rhône Valley family house, and this is its white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Les Hauts de Barville. White Châteauneuf is rare: only a small share of the appellation's wine is white.
White Châteauneuf is usually made from grapes like Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Clairette. Expect a rounded, full-bodied white with stone fruit, white flowers and a hint of honey and herbs, with enough freshness to keep it balanced.
Serve it around 50-54F in a white wine glass. It's excellent with roast chicken, pork, grilled fish, shellfish or soft cheeses. A good choice for someone who loves rich whites and wants to try something less familiar.
