This appellation lies above the town of St. Helena on the eastern slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains, which separate Napa Valley from the Sonoma Valley and the Santa Rosa Plain. The vineyard is located at 1,600 feet and has sedimentary soils. The wine it produces opens with a signature floral perfume that leads to red and black fruit flavors. Satiny tannins yield on the palate, yet will fully reward cellaring.
