Leonetti Cellar is one of the founding wineries of Walla Walla, Washington, and its Cabernet Sauvignon has been a collector favorite for decades. Bottles are hard to find, which is part of why people look for them.
Walla Walla Cabernet tends to combine ripe dark fruit with freshness and structure. Expect blackcurrant, black cherry and some savory, earthy notes, framed by fine tannins and good acidity. It's built to age, though it's enjoyable young after some air.
Decant it for an hour and serve around 62-65F in a large glass. Pair it with grilled ribeye, lamb, or hard aged cheeses. A top choice for a Washington wine collector, or a memorable bottle for a special dinner.
