Left Coast is a family estate in Oregon's Willamette Valley, and Truffle Hill is one of its vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs. Oregon has built its reputation on Pinot Noir, with cool nights that keep the fruit fresh.
This one is on the darker side. Expect blackberry, black cherry and earthy aromas, then dark fruit, raw cocoa and notable mineral tones. The texture is soft and smooth, and it has the structure to age for a few years.
Serve it slightly cool, around 58-60F, in a wide glass. It's very good with salmon, duck, mushroom dishes and roast pork. A good bottle for a Pinot Noir drinker who likes a bit more depth than the typical easy-drinking style.
