Produced at Lasso Motel Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, the Darts Cask Finish begins as a four-grain bourbon mash (corn, rye, wheat, malted barley) fermented with proprietary yeast before distillation in a copper pot still. After aging four years in new char-level-3 American white oak barrels, the spirit is racked into ex-Port wine casks sourced from Portugal's Douro Valley for an additional six months, allowing rich red-fruit notes and silky tannins to integrate. The distillery's limestone-filtered spring water and close proximity to Kentucky's humid climate ensure gentle oak extraction and smooth mouthfeel. The resulting bourbon marries traditional caramel and vanilla with dried cherry, mocha and a soft, wine-inspired finish.
