Welcome to this the fourth release in Laphroaig Ian Hunter series. A non-chill filtered whisky with notes of honey, black pepper, and Laphroaig's signature peatiness, it has been aged in American White Oak Bourbon barrels and finished in first-fill European Oak Oloroso Sherry casks.
This series honors the life and times of one of the distillery's greatest distillers, and the last of the Johnston family to own and manage the Laphroaig distillery. This chapter celebrates Ian Hunter's establishing of our malting floors and the contribution it makes to the taste of Laphroaig.
- Nose: Smoky and rich dried fruit, with notes of leaf tobacco, Eucalyptus, fresh straw, and sweet otes of golden syrup, cinder toffee, heather honey and crushed black pepper.
- Palate: Peaty and sweet, barbecued pork with sweet honey marinade together with notes of peach and orange blossom, a touch of iodine and earthy floral notes.
- Finish: Ashy with wood smoke lingering.
