Krug Grande Cuvée is not a single-vintage wine. Each edition is a blend of many wines from many years, and the 173rd Edition is one of them. This bottle comes in the Krug gift box.
Krug's style is rich and layered. Expect toasted brioche, hazelnut, citrus and dried fruit, with fine, persistent bubbles and real depth. It's one of the few Champagnes that's as much about texture as freshness, and it rewards slow drinking.
Serve it cool rather than ice cold, around 50F, in a white wine glass, not a flute. Good with lobster, aged Comté, roast chicken or simply on its own. With the box, it's ready to give for a big birthday, a wedding or a thank-you that needs to land.
