Kanonkop is the estate that made Pinotage worth taking seriously, and Kadette is the entry from the same Simonsberg vineyards. Dark berry, blackberry and bramble on a lifted nose with savoury spice and dried herbs, then ripe black cherry, plum and allspice on a fleshy palate. Fresh acidity, lightly grippy tannins, and a long juicy finish that turns earthy at the end.
