DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
Picpoul de Pinet is a white wine appellation in the Languedoc in southern France, on the vineyards around the Etang de Thau, a saltwater lagoon famous for its oysters. The wine must be made from Picpoul, a local grape whose name means lip-stinger, after its sharp acidity. Jadix is a 100% Picpoul from the appellation, imported by Monsieur Touton.
The importer describes an intense fruity nose of citrus and exotic fruit, and a fresh palate with good acidity and a distinctive salty note. It is one of the best values in French white wine, crisp and clean, and a good stand-in for Muscadet or Pinot Grigio.
Serve it cold, around 45F, in a white wine glass. Its natural partner is a dozen oysters, but it is just as good with steamed mussels, grilled fish, pasta, vegetable dishes or chicken, or as an aperitif.
Bottle size: 750ml
