• Annually released cask strength single malt Islay Scotch whisky independently bottled by Port Askaig • Small batch vatting of single malt whisky from an undisclosed Islay distillery • Batch #01-2023 • Aged for a minimum of 5 years in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels (25%) and refill American oak hogsheads (75%); non-age statement • Lemon oil, violets, and cracked black pepper on the nose transition to a palate that leads with pepper crackers, lime juice, and salt before deepening to baking spice and custard with lingering smoke on the finish and a savory hint of caramelized mackerel • No added coloring • Non-chill filtered; bottled at a cask strength of 59.4% ABV (ABV will vary batch to batch) With no more that sixty casks vatted per batch, Port Askaig’s cask strength series presents an intimate portrait of unabashed Islay whisky. Each release will vary in cask regimen, and a QR code on the label leads to further production details.
