DESCRIPTION
The Lioness is the Hess family's biggest Chardonnay, named for the women of the family and made from estate fruit. Barrel aged with lees stirring in a good proportion of new French oak, bottled unfiltered. Lemon curd and toast, then cooked apple, cinnamon and nutmeg, with creme brulee and salted butterscotch lifted by lemon verbena and blood orange. Lush, and unashamedly so.
