Martha's Vineyard sits on the Oakville bench and has been bottled on its own by Heitz since 1966. The site's own selection of Cabernet, the Martha's clone, gives small berries with a mint and eucalyptus note that shows up vintage after vintage. Dried black fruit, cedar and fragrant herbs, firm tannins, and the length you expect from a wine held back three years before release. This is the half bottle, which suits two people and one dinner.
