Heidsieck & Co. Monopole is a historic Champagne house, and Blue Top is its signature Brut. This is the half bottle.
It's a crisp, deliciously easy Champagne with white fruit and a creamy mousse. The dosage is relatively generous, so it feels soft, with a lightly tangy character and ripe acidity on the finish. Not austere at all.
The 375ml is the right size for two people, or for a toast when a full bottle would go flat before anyone finished it. Serve it cold, around 45F. It's particularly good as an aperitif, and also works with shellfish and Asian dishes. An easy choice for a small celebration, a gift basket, or a quiet night in.
