DESCRIPTION

Straw to pale golden yellow in color, the perlage is extremely fine and persistent. The bouquet is floral and fruity with hints of mountain honey, sage and musk. The taste is fresh, pleasant and delicately sweet and aromatic. Perfect for aperitifs, all types of celebrations and for dessert. Moscato d’Asti is typically an aperitif or dessert wine, due to its sweetness and low alcohol content. Gancia Moscato d’Asti is made in the Piedmonte region of Italy, with moscato grapes from the Langhe and Monferrato hills overlooking the region. With a 5% alcohol content, it’s a good choice for a “welcome” wine, or with a variety of desserts, especially fruit salads or berries. This wine has a light effervescence, and a “green stone” color. The aroma is fruity, reminiscent of grapes and tropical fruits, with some light floral notes. On the palate, it has a light carbonation, and flavors of slightly overripe peaches, pineapple, and a hint of minerality. The mouth sensation of the wine during the finish is similar to that of a fruit nectar. The medium finish is sweet and juicy, with a good balance of acidity.Moscato d’Asti is typically an aperitif or dessert wine, due to its sweetness and low alcohol content. The wine also works well with chocolates, as evidenced by a recent wine and chocolate pairing class. Green & Black’s White Chocolate fared best, with their milk chocolate, toffee chocolate, and hazelnut & currant coming a close second.
