Frog's Leap is a Rutherford winery known for doing things its own way. The grapes for this Sauvignon Blanc are certified organic and dry-farmed, which means the vines get no irrigation and have to root deep for water.
The wine is fermented in neutral vessels, and the winery blocks malolactic fermentation to keep it crisp. It is completely dry and built for the table. Expect citrus zest, white peach, green melon and fresh herbs, with bright acidity and a subtle mineral finish. A good pick for anyone who finds Napa whites too oaky.
Serve it cold, around 45-48F, in a white wine glass. It is excellent with goat cheese, oysters, shrimp, grilled fish, salads with vinaigrette and anything with fresh herbs.
