Rufina is a cooler sub region of Chianti as most of the plantings are at higher elevation, which in this great year has produced a beautifully perfumed Italian red, with cherry, violets, and redcurrant notes.
The Chianti Rufina aged in tonneau and cement for 12 months, smells of small red fruits, undergrowth, earth and graphite, with light smoky hints. In the mouth, the sip is agile, juicy and lively, with tasty tannins and continuous development, ending in a tasty finish with citrus hints.
