Limited-production proprietary blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Merlot from specific Sonoma County appellations.
Cinema is comprised of fruit from select sub-appellations of Sonoma; Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from Alexander Valley, and Cabernet Franc from Knights Valley. Our Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, the largest component of this blend, is highly concentrated and creates the lush profile of the blend. The Knights Valley Cabernet Franc is very fragrant, with notes of cedar, red cherry and a touch of spice; it provides Cinema with explosive aromas. The weight and tannins inherent in our Petit Verdot coupled with the body and complexity of Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon work to create a rich, spectacular wine with an exotic spice character and earthy edge.
Those who are fans of Super Tuscans will enjoy the exotic spice character as well as the juicy fruit impressions of blackberries, cherries, currants, anise and cigar box. The palate has a soft, elegant entry provided by the Zinfandel, while the mid-palate offers rich, bold flavors of cassis courtesy of our Cabernet Sauvignon. Lengthy tannins from our Petite Sirah hold everything together for a dramatic finish.
