The opposite of what they are doing down slope in the Napa Valley, this small, natural producer eschews monovarietals like Cabernet in favor of blends, in this case Barbera, Tempranillo, Trousseau, Graciano & a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon.
The result is a wine that pleases sommeliers, natural wine devotees, critics like Eric Asimov of the New York Times and just plain wine-enjoying folk. Indigenous yeasts, low sulphur, 2 years in oak barrels.
