Twin sisters Margherita and Francesca Padovani started Fonterenza in 1997 on family land at Montalcino and planted the first vines themselves. Farmed biodynamically, fermented with native yeasts, unfined and unfiltered. The Brunello comes from a single hectare in their Vigna del Bosco parcel. Pine, pressed violets and blackberry with scorched earth, then black cherry, clove and balsamic spice over saline minerality and brisk acidity.
