DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
"Terre di Elio" or "Land of Elio" is named after the owner's son. This wine is crafted from 35-year-old vines, grafted from the older Nerello Mascalese "mother plants" that are considered the genetic foundation of the estate's vineyards. The vineyard sits at an impressive 2,100 feet above sea level, in a high-altitude, naturally isolated location protected by surrounding durum wheat fields. The cool, mountainous environment allows for slow ripening of the grapes, contributing to the wine's exceptional balance.
