DESCRIPTION
Domaine Weinbach is one of the great family estates of Alsace, based in Kaysersberg and run by the Faller family. Cuvée Colette is its dry Riesling named for Colette Faller, and this is the 2021.
It opens with a striking nose of yellow peach, pomelo and fresh pineapple. The wine is ripe and vibrant at the same time, completely dry, with citrus flavors that run right through the palate into a long, uplifting finish. It's a lovely example of how good dry Alsace Riesling can be.
Serve it chilled, around 48-50F, in a white wine glass. It's excellent with seafood, sushi, roast pork, choucroute, or lightly spiced Asian dishes. It's delicious now and will also age well for several years. A great choice for anyone who thinks Riesling is always sweet.
