Delamain is the only cognac house where the range starts at XO. Pale and Dry is its signature: a blend of 20 to 25 year old brandies, all from Grande Champagne, and it was one of Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Spirits of 2017.

The name tells you the style: elegant, nothing heavy. White flowers, honey and pear on the nose. Then cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, toasty brioche and vanilla, with hints of walnut. The finish is long, silky and palate-coating. It's graceful rather than big, and that's what makes it special.

Pour it neat in a tulip glass at room temperature and give it a few minutes. Try it with a fruit tart, roasted nuts or an aged Comté. Buy it for the cognac drinker who's tried all the big brands.

Quite simply, a superior Cognac

Most distillers of brandy and whisky add caramel color to infer a well-aged product. Not Delamain! Everything about it is superb. The nose is rich and satisfying. On the palate it is deliciously soft without the edge one has come to expect from inferior brandies. I've have been enjoying Delamain for more than 40 years, including the Vesper, the Reserve de la Famille as well as several of the vintage selections. Unfortunately the world has discovered Delamain and the price has increased significantly over the years even as the Euro has fallen against the dollar. Even so, it is a bargain when compared to the competition. Pardon me, THERE IS NO COMPETITION!
