Pale amber in color.Fresh sherry embraces the maltier, more honeyed aspects of Dalwhinnie. Peaty and surprisingly, still heathery. Spicy yet grapy.A big, spicy buzz followed by an impressive build up of very clear, well defined malt. After a quick burst of sweetness, a rich, grape effect moves in towards the middle.Lots of oak. Tasty Dram

Each year, one Master Distiller is tasked with blending casks that have undergone double maturation. The theme is always the same - sweet and smokey. However, the balance is what changes. This 2004 distillation has mild smoke and a sweet side of vanilla and honey. The 2004 is slightly less smokey than the 2002 and 2003, both of which I feel offered almost ideal balance. While the 2004 isn’t that far off, I do miss the interpretation presented in ’02 and ‘03. In the end the 2004 is still a tasty dram. The Distillers Edition is the only scotch to which I and not a single drop of water. The balance is ideal straight out of the bottle. Wine Chateau gets 5+ Stars. Great deals on booze and shipping. Thick boxes filled with copious amounts of packaging material always keep my bottles safe. Thank You Team Wine Chateau!
