Craigellachie Distillery, founded in 1891 and located in Speyside, is known for producing a bold, muscular whisky style thanks to worm-tub condensers-large coils that cool vapor slowly and impart sulfur-rich weight and texture. The 17-Year expression balances Craigellachie's traditional meaty character with refined orchard fruit, honey, and baking spice. Matured primarily in American oak, the whisky retains a firm malt backbone while developing layers of complexity with age. Speyside's warm days and cool nights create ideal maturation conditions, softening the spirit without diminishing its signature heft.
