Bodega Contador is a modern wine producer in Rioja, Spain. Its flagship wine, Contador, is one of Spain’s most consistently high-priced wines, on par with Pingus and Vega Sicilia. Made predominantly from Tempranillo.
This 2014, a cask sample, shows a deep clean ruby colour. Intense nose with ripe black fruit, balsamic, herbal, lavender and rosemary. Very fine and complex with mineral hints. The palate is elegant and powerful. Great balance between fruit and oak. Multidimensional wine. To drink with respect for the land, grapes and men. Splendid. Long, fresh and tasty finish.
