DESCRIPTION
Cloudy Bay made Marlborough's name with Sauvignon Blanc in 1985; the Pinot Noir comes from the cooler Southern Valleys, on old alluvial gravel over dense clay. Boysenberry and cherry with dusky florals, then crunchy dark cherry, cranberry and hedgerow fruit. Very fine tannins underneath, and a fresh, succulent palate.
