DESCRIPTION
Château du Tertre is a Fifth Growth in the 1855 classification, in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. Margaux is known for the most perfumed, silky reds of the Médoc, and this is the 2019.
The château describes its wine as fresh, dense, generous and aromatic, with no trace of excess, and that's a fair summary. Expect a Cabernet-led Margaux with dark berry fruit, floral notes and fine tannins. It can be aged for many years, but it's also enjoyable young.
If you open it now, decant it for an hour and serve around 62-64F in a large glass. Roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast or mushroom dishes all work. A classified Margaux at a fair price, and a good bottle to put away for a few years if you have the patience.
