Château Angélus is one of Saint-Émilion's most famous estates, owned by the de Boüard family for generations, and the golden bell on its label is easy to spot. This is the 2020.
Angélus stands out on the Right Bank for its high share of Cabernet Franc alongside Merlot, which gives the wine freshness, perfume and structure on top of its richness. Expect dark plum and black cherry, spice and fine oak, with dense but polished tannins and a long finish. It's a wine built for the cellar.
If you're opening it young, decant for at least two hours and serve around 62-65F in a large Bordeaux glass. Better yet, give it years. Made for roast lamb, beef Wellington or a special dinner. A serious collector's bottle and a standout gift.
