DESCRIPTION
Puligny-Montrachet is one of the great white wine villages of Burgundy, and Les Folatières is one of its largest and best-known Premier Cru vineyards. Domaine Jean Chartron is based in Puligny itself.
This is Chardonnay, and Puligny is known for its precise, mineral style. Expect lemon, white peach and white flowers, a stony, chalky edge and a fine line of acidity, with oak kept in the background. It's young, so it will gain richness over the next few years.
Serve it cool, around 52-55F, in a wide white Burgundy glass, and don't serve it too cold or you lose the detail. Good with lobster, turbot, roast chicken or a creamy risotto. A serious white for a special dinner.
