DESCRIPTION
2003 was the heat wave vintage, and Lafite came through it better than almost anyone. Dense ruby to the rim, with cedarwood, pencil shavings, cocoa and cassis on the nose and summer truffle underneath. Rich and smooth on the palate with rounded tannins, then a long concentrated finish. Parker gave it 100 points and called it as close to perfection as any Lafite of the previous thirty years.
