Bruichladdich Re/Define 30 Year Old

It’s only because of two men that we have a 30 year old Bruichladdich. In 1994, Bruichladdich closed its doors, and the site was mothballed. Workers were laid off, but two remaining members of staff safeguarded the casks which continued to mature in the depths of the warehouses, before the distillery was restored in 2001.

Bruichladdich Re/Define 30 Year Old is an unpeated Islay single malt, aged for 30 years in handpicked, exceptionally rare ex-Bourbon casks.

It has notes of salty sea air, geranium, rose, wild gorse flowers, coconut, light fruits, dark chocolate, honey, fudge, Brazil nuts, vanilla, pear drops, candied lemon, soft spices and cinnamon and comes at a strength of 43% ABV.

Its bespoke outer wrap is made from 100% recycled paper, and it uses an average of 60% recycled glass and is topped off with a luxury Vinolok decanter-style glass stopper.

This is a delicate, elegant yet complex whisky.
