DESCRIPTION
Montagny is a white-wine village in Burgundy's Côte Chalonnaise, and its premier crus are one of the region's better bargains. This one is from Albert Bichot, a large, long-established Burgundy house, from the 2019 vintage.
It's Chardonnay, and it leans to the rich side. Medium gold in color, with not much fruit on the nose but a very buttery, creamy palate, held together by nice acidity and a long aftertaste. It's a richer style of white Burgundy at a fair price.
Serve it cool, around 50-52F, in a white Burgundy glass rather than ice-cold, so the texture shows. Good with roast chicken, lobster or crab, creamy pasta, or salmon. A dependable white for a dinner party.
