It all begins with Kentucky Rye, providing a firm foundation of spice, oak, dried fruit and subtle molasses undertones for this release to build upon. From there, Canadian Rye from our award-winning Alberta Distillery is skillfully layered in. A touch of California Port, and its complementary notes of ripe fruit, provides the third and final layer to a whiskey just as at home on the rocks as it is in a cocktail.

Don't mix this!

It's an utter waste to mix this with any adulterant beyond ice/water; the bouquet and flavor are unmatched. A taste that is unique among ryes and rye blends, the finish is smooth as glass. What a joy to have discovered this gem earlier this year. It's better than, but matches the smooth finish of Tangle Ridge (before they started bottling in Indiana) and lacks the harsh finish of CC Sherry Casked whiskey. Those were two favorites in a time passed. Pass the mantle to Basil Hayden!
