DESCRIPTION
Not a second wine in the usual sense. Palmer makes Alter Ego with a different hand, picking earlier and using less new oak, so it drinks well long before the grand vin does. The 2015 is 52% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot. Blackcurrant, black cherry and dark chocolate with cedar and lavender, rich and velvety, the tannins fine and the acidity well set. Good for another decade or more.
