DESCRIPTION
Alta Vista is a Mendoza winery founded by a French family, and Alto is its top red. It's a blend led by Malbec, the grape that put Argentina on the wine map, from high-altitude vineyards at the foot of the Andes.
Dark ruby, rich and intense. Expect powerful black fruit on the nose with oak notes of vanilla, tobacco, roasted coffee and leather, plus a mineral edge. The palate is full-bodied and dense, but balanced, with a long finish.
Decant it for an hour and serve around 62-64F in a large glass. It's made for grilled steak, Argentine asado, lamb or hard cheeses. With some age already on it, the 2015 is a good bottle for a special dinner.
